How to Donate a Bike

Looking to dispose of an old bike (maybe to make space for a new one), want to support Scouting in Kanata and want to see the bike (or at least parts of it) get a new lease on life then donate it to 1st Kanata Scout Group.

We have a dedicated team of bike fixers (including adults and Scouts) who repair donated bikes year round.  The repaired bikes are sold at the Bike Exchange and Sale to raise money for Scouting activities.  Sometimes the bike just needs cleaning.  Sometimes a small repair, sometimes the team will build one good bike from the components of 2 or 3 other bikes.  This is true recycling :-)

How Do I Donate a Bike?

Send an e-mail to us at:  Bikes@1stKanataScouts.org and someone from 1st Kanata Scouts will get in touch with you.  Be sure to mention in the email what you would like to donate and how you can be contacted.

We accept donated bikes throughout the year.  We normally ask you if you can drop off the donation at one of our Bike Repair sessions in Kanata.  If that is not possible we may be able to pick it up from you.

You can also donate a bike at the Bike Exchange and Sale from 6-8 pm on Fri 26 Apr or 7 to 8:30 am on Sat 27 Apr.   If you are bringing a bike to donate, you can by-pass the line; just ask one of the Bike Exchange & Sale volunteers to take it from you. We may sell it this year or next depending on its condition.

Thank You for Your Donation
